1. Could you briefly introduce yourself and tell us about your role as Vice President, Global Energy Markets at AECOM?
I am the Vice President of Global Energy Markets and I work with energy companies, investors and government in the UK and internationally. Current areas of focus include data centres (accessing power and engaging local communities) and fusion energy (building supply chains).
2. Where do you see the greatest opportunity for data centres and the power sector to benefit from each other, for example through flexibility, heat reuse or investment in new capacity?
There is a significant opportunity to consider the role of data centers from a whole systems perspective. This ranges from managing loads dynamically, potentially exporting power in the future to using data centres as anchor clients in industrial clusters.
3. Why are you taking part in Technology Optimists, and what are you most looking forward to?
Meeting new people and hearing different perspectives.
Adrian will join our panel discussion “Can we connect more data centres without compromising the grid?” at Technology Optimists London on 18 November, alongside Dan Thomas, CEO of GreenScale wit more.
